You begin to wonder why certain foods you have eaten over the years start to cause belly aches, bloating and down right pain in your GI system.  Well in a lot of cases there is a tendency for the gut to lose its ability to breakdown the foods into various nutrients to aid the body.  What then occurs is there is a larger than what can be handled food particle "running" through and "ruining" the body's natural energy to function. 

Foods that are suppose to fuel you are not wreaking havoc! What may be the issue(s)?

A battery of tests and questionnaire's are necessary for specific cause.  However, eating foods that are less likely to injure the GI system and taking a few supplements may be all that is necessary.

Probiotics

These beneficial bacteria offer a way to repair and sustain a healthy ecosystem.  They offer an immune boost and literally help breakdown foods into smaller particles for use. Call us for more details on how to choose good quality probiotics.

Hydration

The body is made up of a substantial amount of water.  Without the correct amount, the foods lose an important delivery system to breakdown foods and to help the contents that are not as essential to exit the body easier.  Drink "clean" water and try to work up to 1/2 your body weight in ounces consumed per day (150 lb person = 75 ounces).

Eat better foods

Choose foods in their rawest state (non chemicalized, pasteurized, etc.).  Fruits, vegetables and whole grains are examples (organic if available).

There is like I said, a series of tests to further recognize the source of irritation from the foods you eat.  However, simple changes caught early enough can have profound and positive impact on your digestion and life.
